An employee was meeting another driver at a halfway point to exchange small freight loads. The employee was conducting a pre-trip inspection on the newly coupled trailer and exited the cab using the steps and grab bar. The employee lost his footing and handhold, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain contusions to his back, shoulder, and head. The employee was hospitalized.
