An employee was loading coil stock into a purlin line. The metal was caught on the machine's guides and bowed upward at the camber corrector. When the employee pulled the metal downward, stored energy in the bowed metal caused it to come down on his right middle fingertip. The employee sustained an amputation at the first knuckle.
