Narrative

The injured employee was welding an 8-inch-thick, 8-foot-long pipe weighing about 600 pounds. The injured employee, along with another employee, rotated the pipe on its stand to finish a cap weld around a joint. The pipe stand tipped, causing the pipe to fall and strike the employee's right little finger and left big toe. The employee suffered fractures and lacerations.
