Narrative

Employees were using an overhead crane to lift bundles of bar to be placed on the saw rack for cutting. An employee's left hand was caught in the crane's pulley while the load was lifted resulting in torn flesh, crushed bone, and amputation of the left thumb at the first knuckle. The employee was hospitalized.
