An employee was cleaning out a guide area where a continuous log of extruded toilet bowl cleaner was being cut into individual cakes. He had just cleared the blockage at the cutter's point of operation when the cutter rotated and struck his left index finger, resulting in a partial amputation through the bone. The machine was guarded at the time.
