Narrative

An employee was cleaning the exterior of a deposition tank (containing red phosphorus) with steel wool from within a fume hood. There was a flash fire inside the fume hood, and the employee suffered burns to the forearms, forehead, cheeks, chin, and right leg. The employee was hospitalized.
